Leather Office Chairs
Find a leather office chair for a home workspace, professional office or executive desk. Compare leather office chairs in different designs and finishes, from compact leather desk chairs to high-back executive models.
Before choosing, check whether the upholstery is real leather or faux leather, as their appearance, care requirements and price can differ. Also compare the seat dimensions, backrest, armrests and adjustment options to find a leather office desk chair suited to your intended use.
Leather office chairs for desks and executive offices
Leather office chairs are a popular choice for professional offices, executive rooms and home workspaces where both appearance and functionality matter. Within our range of office armchairs, you can compare models in real leather, faux leather and combinations of different materials.
Before choosing, check the upholstery specification carefully. Some chairs use genuine leather throughout, while others combine real leather on the main contact areas with synthetic material on the sides or back. A chair described as leather-look, faux leather or synthetic leather is not a genuine leather office chair.
Comfort depends on more than the upholstery. Compare the seat dimensions, padding, backrest, armrests, adjustment mechanism and recommended use with other office chairs before deciding.
Types of leather office chairs
Leather office desk chairs
A leather office desk chair combines the appearance of leather upholstery with the features required at a workstation. Depending on the model, a leather desk chair may include adjustable height, armrests, a swivel base or a reclining mechanism. Check the specifications to make sure the chair suits your desk and expected hours of use.
Executive leather office chairs
An executive leather office chair usually has a more substantial design and may include a high backrest, wider seat or additional padding. Features vary between models, so compare the dimensions and adjustment options in our executive chairs category.
Leather visitor chairs
Leather and faux leather upholstery can also be found on visitor chairs for waiting rooms, meeting areas and professional offices. For these spaces, check the overall dimensions, frame, cleaning instructions and whether the chairs can be stacked or moved easily.
Real leather and faux leather office chairs
Real and genuine leather
A real leather office chair uses upholstery made from animal hide. Genuine leather can have natural variations in colour, grain and texture, and its appearance may change gradually with use. The finish, grade and thickness can differ between products, so check the material description rather than relying only on the word “leather”.
Some genuine leather office chairs use real leather only on the seat and backrest contact areas. The sides and rear may be upholstered in a matching synthetic material, so review the complete composition if you want a chair made entirely from real leather.
Faux and synthetic leather
A faux leather office chair uses a manufactured material designed to reproduce the appearance of leather. It generally offers a more uniform finish and may be easier to wipe clean, although its feel, resistance and care requirements depend on the type and quality of the material.
Terms such as faux leather, synthetic leather, PU leather and eco-leather do not always describe the same composition. In particular, “eco-leather” does not necessarily mean genuine leather or guarantee a lower environmental impact. Check the product information to find out exactly which material is used.
How to care for a leather office chair
Remove dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. If a spill occurs, clean it promptly according to the instructions supplied with the chair, without soaking the upholstery or rubbing the surface aggressively.
Do not apply ordinary moisturising cream, alcohol, abrasive cleaners or household detergents unless the manufacturer specifically recommends them. A conditioner intended for genuine leather may be suitable for some real leather chairs, but it should not automatically be used on faux leather. Test any approved product on a discreet area first.
Keep the chair away from prolonged direct sunlight, radiators and other strong heat sources where possible. The correct cleaning method and maintenance frequency depend on the type of leather, its finish and the conditions in which the chair is used.
Why choose a leather office chair?
A leather office chair can provide a formal, polished finish for an executive office, meeting room or home workspace. Real and faux leather models are available at different prices and with different designs, making it possible to choose according to the setting, intended use and maintenance requirements.
The upholstery alone does not determine whether a chair will be comfortable or suitable for long working days. Check the seat size, backrest, lumbar support, armrests, mechanism and adjustment range, as well as whether the model is made from real leather, partial leather or faux leather.
